Join WUNA and other concerned neighborhoods at the Zoning Examiner's meeting to comment on the Transition Zone the area between Speedway-6th St. and Park-Euclid. It is also known now as the Main Gate District. Please refer to attachments for additional information. The WUNA Final Document is a sketch-up document showing the City of Tucson's proposed design concept with heights and WUNA's counterproposal.

It is important to have neighbors present at this meeting. However, if you are unable to attend, please write letters in support of WUNA's position as outlined in the attached letter.

Dear Neighbors,
WUNA is in the midst of a major rezoning the City council initiated for the eastern portion of our neighborhood called the Transition Area. The initial meeting with the Zoning Examiner took place January 26 and many of you came out in support at that meeting and/or in writing. Thank you. The Zoning Examiner made a decision at that hearing to extend the hearing to February 9thpartially because of recent additions to the Main Gate District overlay that no one had the opportunity to review. WUNA is asking for your support again at this meeting. Many of the concerns WUNA has about this rezoning are contained in the letter that was sent out prior to the January 26 Zoning Examiner hearing and that letter is included as an attachment. These concerns include an incentive that will encourage demolition of historic properties, building heights up to 160 feet, that no traffic impact study has been undertaken and concerns about the adverse impact on the future of our residential and historic neighborhood. WUNA commissioned a sketch up drawing to convey our ideas concerning heights and density. That is attached to this email as well as our letter to the Zoning Examiner.
